5. Turn the switch ON for your newsletters

Open:

CMS → Publications Items → Open a newsletter

1. Find Is Newsletter.
2. Turn it ON.
3. Save.
4. Repeat for your other newsletters.

Leave it OFF for handbooks, study reports, and other publication types.

Use “Is Newsletter” from Publications Items here—not “Use Newsletter Layout” from the Publications category Collection.

If the switch is missing, add a Switch field named Is Newsletter in Publications Items → Settings.

6. Connect your design to each newsletter’s content

Your screenshot still shows sample content. On Publications Items Template, connect these elements:

For each element:

1. Select it.
2. Open Element settings.
3. Click its purple CMS connection.
4. Choose the corresponding field.

For the highlighted article area, select the whole Rich Text element and connect it to Newsletter Content.

If you have no author or category fields, remove the sample author and category labels or connect them to suitable fields you add.

Change “All posts” to “All newsletters” and link it to your newsletter listing page.

7. Check that it works

In the template’s top CMS item selector:

1. Select a newsletter with Is Newsletter ON → your new reading design should appear.
2. Select a handbook with Is Newsletter OFF → your new design should disappear.
3. Select another newsletter → the same layout should display that newsletter’s content.

Finally, make sure both the hero and lower-list Read More links point to Current Publications Item. Publish the template changes and updated CMS items after checking them.
