Invest Bangladesh is delighted to welcome Mohammad Muntasir Hossain as its first Member, Technology & Innovation.

The Ministry of Public Administration issued a gazette notification on Thursday appointing him, on a one-year contract from the date of joining, as a Member of Invest Bangladesh under the Prime Minister’s Office, with the rank of Additional Secretary.

Mohammad Muntasir Hossain is a digital product and commercial leader with two decades of experience across Bangladesh and international markets. He has built and scaled several digital products and businesses at Grameenphone and Telenor Group, in senior roles spanning products, innovation, new business, commercial development and social impact. He has since founded and led multiple global technology ventures.

He holds a BBA and an MBA from the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), University of Dhaka, and has completed executive education at INSEAD and London Business School.

The team he will be heading will focus on building future-ready digital platforms that provide investors with a seamless user experience.

“Our goal is simple: make investing in Bangladesh easier, faster and more predictable. Building on the strong foundations already in place, we will use technology to connect services more seamlessly, improve the investor experience and make it easier to access information, complete processes and track progress through one coordinated journey. That will be our immediate priority,” said Mohammad Muntasir Hossain.

Invest Bangladesh became the country’s apex investment promotion agency on 20 August 2026, with the merger of the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority, the Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority and the Public-Private Partnership Authority.

The authority’s mandate is to serve as a single, coordinated platform for investment promotion and facilitation, economic zones and public-private partnerships to mobilise private capital, enable businesses to grow and support Bangladesh’s long-term economic growth and job creation.
